Beware of Theft
The recent Car Break-ins is a big cause for concern.
Here are a few things we can do to keep our
community safe. Please make sure to keep your
vehicle doors locked at all times. Also a great
deterrent is to turn on all of your exterior lights,
from dusk until dawn. Remember to make sure all

of your bulbs are in working order. If you notice any

suspicious activity please call 911 to report it

immediately. Police are still searching for suspects.

If you have any information,
please contact the Raleigh Police Department.

Let’s Play Some Basketball
By: Kristy Payne
My four teenagers think I'm crazy when I say, "I really want
to go down the street and play basketball with the neighbor
kids!" We are hoping to get a basketball goal soon, I miss playing. It is something I loved doing as a kid in my backyard with my neighborhood friends. There is currently a house down the street from me and I love hearing the kids out there in the evenings playing basketball. One of these days I'll be brave enough to go over there and ask if I can play too...even though they would probably run circles around me. Having a Basketball Goal is considered a BLANKET APPROVAL. What does this mean? It means Basketball Goals do not need approval from the Architectural Review Committee to be placed on your lot. However, these guidelines mentioned below must be followed.

“Basketball goals
my be cemented
into the ground
with ARC
approval.”

•Basketball goals are to be located in the rear third (toward
the house) of the driveway;
•Goals should be mounted on a single pole with a backboard
that is predominately white, clear or gray;
•Basketball goals are prohibited from being mounted directly
on the house;
•Basketball goals may be cemented into the ground with ARC
approval;
•One goal per house;
•It is required that player(s) be courteous and not hinder a
neighbor’s property during normal play;
•Goals are not to be placed so basketball is played in the
street;
•Moveable basketball goals are also to be located in the rear
third (toward the house) of the driveway;
•Basketball goals need to be erect at all times.

First Time Homeowners
By: Katt Ballard
Hi Neighbors. We are the Ballards; Jay, Katt and Emma. Jay and I moved here from Myrtle Beach after initially meeting and falling in love in Charlotte. Jay is a UX designer and I am a Clinical Research Monitor. Emma is 3 and a certified threenager, so if you see us walking around and she is having a meltdown its probably because the sky is blue. lol! We are first time homeowners and we have lived in Mallory Square since November 2018. We aren’t normally social people, so I am hoping that by becoming homeowners, it will force us to come out of our shells. We love all of our neighbors so far and can’t wait to meet more of you!
